As a young child, I enjoyed playing games my friends and I would invent on skates. Both of us are wearing strap-on skates tossing rocks into a bucket.

We may not have even known how to "shoot the duck". My friend is gliding in a squatting position and I am descending into a similar posture. I am wearing vinyl boot skates with metal wheels and the other girl is wearing strap-on skates.

My friend and I discovered we owned matching jumper dresses. Worn with similar white turtleneck sweaters, these garments became our performance costumes. They certainly are short! I don't recall having matching bloomers to hide our underpants if we fell or shot the duck indelicately. Look at those two little hams taking a bow!

My friends and I liked to put on skating shows for the neighborhood. We are both holding up signs declaring our love of skating. My friend's sign says "Skating is fun". Mine is a picture of a multi-colored roller skate.
