The 1980 Olympic Speed Skating Oval, Lake Placid

Here I am fooling around on the Olympic speed skating oval on New Years Eve, 2001.
This was a public session and falling snow covered much of the already bumpy surface.
Lake Placid High School fills the background.

The ice was so bumpy, a spiral would have been foolish, so I am only gliding.	Skating all bundled up against the cold.

The 1980 Olympic Ice Arena Complex stands in the background with international flags flying in the chill wind.
This complex houses the 1980 rink where Robin Cousins won his gold medal
and the USA rink where the United States hockey team defeated the Soviets to win gold.
The 1932 rink, where Sonja Henie won her second gold medal, is attached to this building on the right.

Doing my best to look graceful in heavy clothes on bad ice.
