Stretching by the Sea

Calf Stretch

This basic stretch works the calf and Achilles tendon.

Inverted "V" Stretches

These are my most widely coveted stretches. They receive the most comments from observers. Basically, all I am doing is an exaggerated "bend over and touch the floor" movement that elongates the inner thigh, hamstring, glutes, and lower back muscles.
I also do these moves sitting.

Inside Thigh Stretch

Classic inner thigh stretch.
I usually do this one after the inverted V stretch shown above.

Besti Squat

The Besti squat is performed in a spread eagle pose.
Note the depth of the plié.

A Biellmann Position

The Biellmann is one of the most desirable spinning positions because of its difficulty. I cannot spin in this position and have not spent much time trying. Upon viewing this photograph, the elevation of my free leg surprized me. It is higher than expected. However, a true Beillmann extends directly overhead. For now, this is the best I can do.
